Please introduce yourself and briefly explain your role
Hi, I’m Juan Diego Mendoza Franco, a Revenue Operations Specialist at heyData. My role is all about connecting the dots between marketing, sales, account management, finance, and customer success. I focus on data-driven strategies, process optimization, and scalable growth in the compliance industry. Your Journey
What inspired you to join heyData, and how has your role evolved since you started?
When I was finishing my MBA in Chile, I took a step back to reflect on where I wanted my career to go next. I had experience in large multinational companies like BMW and mid-sized businesses, but I realized I wanted something different—a place where I could truly make an impact, drive change, and contribute to building something meaningful from the ground up.
I knew I wanted to return to Germany, where I had earned my Bachelor’s in Business and my Master’s in International Marketing & Sales. When I discovered heyData, I was immediately drawn to its mission and startup culture—a fast-growing company with big ambitions and the flexibility to innovate.
After my first conversation with HR and then with our co-founder, I knew this was the right place for me. I joined heyData in February 2023 as a Marketing Intern, eager to bring my experience and strategic mindset to the table.
Within just one month, I was promoted to Junior Marketing Manager following a major team restructuring. I took on critical responsibilities, overseeing multiple marketing channels and defining new processes. Shortly after, I stepped into the Marketing Manager role, where I spearheaded high-impact initiatives that drove exponential growth.
As I delved deeper into revenue operations and efficiency optimization, my focus naturally evolved. I transitioned into my current role as Revenue Operations Analyst, where I now work on optimizing internal systems, streamlining workflows, and ensuring every department operates in sync to drive sustainable growth.
Looking back, this has been an incredible success story—not just for me, but for heyData as well. The company empowered me to lead, innovate, and take ownership. In return, I’ve helped shape its growth, efficiency, and operational excellence.

A day in your life
What would surprise us most about your job if we followed you around for a day?
The most surprising thing? The sheer amount of impact one person can have. Working in a startup like heyData means you’re not just executing tasks—you’re leading change, shaping strategy, and driving innovation. My days are a mix of high-level strategic planning and hands-on execution.
- Mornings often start with cross-team alignments—syncing with marketing, sales, and customer success to ensure we’re all working efficiently toward the same goals.
- Midday, I could be analyzing revenue data, optimizing our CRM system, or designing new automation workflows that streamline how we track and engage with customers.
- By the afternoon, I might be problem-solving inefficiencies, brainstorming process improvements, or collaborating on new growth initiatives.
But what would surprise most people is the autonomy and ownership I have. At heyData, if you see an opportunity, you take it. If something isn’t working, you fix it. That mindset has allowed me to drive real change, whether in lead generation, customer experience, or operational efficiency.
No two days are the same, and that’s exactly what keeps me energized and motivated.
Teamwork-Vibes
How do you stay connected with your team, especially in a hybrid or remote setup?
I strongly believe in proactive communication and fostering a collaborative culture. At heyData, we work in a hybrid setup, so staying connected with my team—both in Berlin and remotely—is essential.
I make it a point to empower my colleagues to reach out to me, whether for work-related discussions or just casual conversations. Building trust and transparency is key. We use Chat tools, Productivity apps, and CRM for daily communication, ensuring everyone is aligned.
Whenever possible, I also prioritize in-person interactions—whether it’s through team lunches, after-work gatherings, or brainstorming sessions in the office. The key to thriving in a remote or hybrid setup is building trust, staying engaged, and ensuring everyone feels part of the bigger mission.

Challenges & Wins
What’s the most rewarding project you’ve worked on at heyData? How did it challenge you, and what made it particularly fulfilling?
There have been many, but two stand out:
1. Scaling heyData’s Customer Base by Over 200%
When I joined heyData, we had a modest customer base. In just one year, we achieved a remarkable 200% growth, adding a substantial number of new subscriptions. As a key member of the marketing and revenue operations team, I was instrumental in defining processes, launching targeted campaigns, optimizing messaging, and implementing operational improvements. Witnessing such significant growth, and recognizing my direct contribution to it, was incredibly rewarding.
2. Leading the CRM Migration & Operational Overhaul
Another game-changing project was the migration to a new CRM platform (HubSpot). Before this, our systems were fragmented—15 different tools, disconnected workflows, and inefficiencies across departments. I took ownership of the project, collaborating with every department to define processes, align objectives, and ensure a seamless transition.
This wasn’t just a technical upgrade; it transformed how the entire company operates, making our processes faster, smarter, and more scalable. Leading a project that impacts every single customer interaction was a huge challenge, but also one of the most rewarding experiences of my career.

Mental Breaks
When you need to clear your mind, how do you recharge during the workday?
I’m a firm believer that mental clarity fuels high performance, and for me, that means staying physically active. Exercise is more than just fitness—it’s therapy. Whether it’s a morning workout, an afternoon gym session, or an evening run, movement helps me reset my mind and tackle challenges with renewed energy. Fortunately, heyData supports this mindset by providing fitness perks, which I make full use of.
When I need a quick break during the workday, I take a walk, listen to a podcast, or simply disconnect for a few minutes. It’s amazing how small resets can boost productivity and creativity.
Tech Tools you swear by
Our CRM is my go-to tool. As a RevOps Manager, I rely on it to streamline operations, track customer interactions, and optimize marketing & sales workflows. But I also couldn’t live without Chat and productivity—they keep communication clear and ensure that everything we do is aligned. Efficiency is everything, and these tools help make it happen.
The future
What are you most excited about in your future at heyData?
Looking at what we’ve already accomplished, I can’t help but feel excited for what’s next. We’ve built a strong foundation for growth, but there’s so much more ahead. I’m particularly looking forward to:
- Scaling our revenue operations to make heyData’s processes even more automated and efficient.
- Expanding our market reach—the potential is massive, and I want to be part of that journey.
- Continuing to innovate—I thrive in fast-paced environments, and I’m excited to drive more strategic initiatives that push the company forward.
At heyData, we’re just getting started—and I’m thrilled to be part of the journey.
