A day in the life: Foteini Privacy Success Manager

Foteini joined heyData in 2021 and has grown from a working student to a Privacy Success Manager. Originally from Athens, she’s been calling Berlin home for the past 7 years. You’ll find her bouldering, running, or exploring hiking trails on the weekends when she's not at work. She also loves catching up with friends and soaking up all that Berlin has to offer.

Your Journey
What inspired you to join heyData, and how has your role evolved since you started?
What inspired me was the team spirit and the feeling that I am working with friends. I started working as a student for one month in April 2021 and then continued as a Junior Privacy Consultant. Three and a half years later, I am the Team Lead of the Privacy Success Team. This journey was full of challenges, learning, and new experiences.
A Day in Your Life
What would surprise us most about your job if we followed you around for a day?
What would surprise you most, I think, is the amount of different and variable queries we handle and how fast we need to reset our brains to start with the next inquiry. A normal day would start with our customers' inquiries and move on to preparing finished audits and their documentation. Depending on the day, we could also have one or more appointments with our customers, such as internal meetings. In addition to that, of course, different internal tasks come up every day.
Teamwork Vibes
How do you stay connected with your team, especially in a hybrid or remote setup?
The team works closely every day. Various meetings during the week also play an important role. Moreover, apart from the important company groups, we also have our own “goofy” group where we talk every day. Team events are also not rare. The connection between the team is important and is a milestone of a good working environment.

Challenges & Wins
What’s the most rewarding project you’ve worked on at heyData?
I am not going to talk here about a working project. I am going to talk about my team. To my opinion, this is the most challenging project: to build a team of different individuals with different cultures, who like each other, are friends at the end of the day, and work together on excellent terms. This is not a one-time project. It is an ongoing project that constitutes the basis of good collaboration. Through the team, I also learn and evolve. This is also an ongoing process.
Mental Breaks
When you need to clear your mind, how do you recharge during the workday?
A short run is always refreshing. Meeting with friends after work is also an old habit.

The Future
What are you most excited about in your future at heyData?
I am excited about my future at heyData. Since heyData is a fast-growing company, I am looking forward to the new challenges that this course will bring.
